A commemorative event marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, and the participation of the Durham Light Infantry. Opera excerpts by Puccini, Verdi and Mozart reflect on loss, imprisonment, love and the enduring quality of the human spirit and local musicians of all ages perform a new work by Will Todd commissioned for this event, and children and flautists from the Upper Dales perform a specially adapted version of Matthew Prevett’s “I believe”.
