Orchestra North East: Films, Fiddles and Fingal’s

Sun 29 Jan 2017 , 3:00 pm

| £16

Mendelssohn: Hebrides Overture
Bruch: Violin Concerto (soloist Bradley Creswick)
John Williams: music from Harry Potter, Schindler’s List and Star Wars
Conductor – Aidan Oliver

Bruch’s Violin Concerto is often cited as one the most beautifully melodic ever written and the Orchestra is delighted to welcome Bradley as their soloist for the afternoon. As leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Bradley needs no introduction to North East audiences and we are very much looking forward to working with him.

If Max Bruch could write a good melody, then so can John Williams, perhaps the most famous contemporary composer of music written for the cinema. Decidedly symphonic in musical style, yet actually extremely varied in the detail, there can be few people not familiar with his more famous scores, among them Harry Potter, Schindler’s List and of course Star Wars.

Adults £16, Concessions £14, students £8, accompanied 16s and under free. Available from Gala Theatre Box office 03000 266600

School groups are welcome – please make direct enquiries with the Orchestra via their website.
