Royal Northern Sinfonia: Israel in Egypt

Tue 11 Apr 2017 , 8:00 pm

| £26.88

Handel’s oratorio Israel in Egypt is a vivid musical depiction of the story from Exodus of the Ten Plagues of Egypt and the Israelites’ dramatic escape through the waters of the Red Sea. Like Messiah, the emphasis in Israel in Egypt is on the choral writing, with the soloists adding to the story rather than playing the parts of particular characters. Expect jumping frogs, hailstones and parting waves, all created musically in glorious technicolor by Handel.

Conductor: Nicholas McGegan
