St John Passion: Dunelm Consort & Players
Mon 13 Mar 2017 , 8:00 pm| £10
Bach’s St John Passion is a dramatic account of the events of Good Friday, from Christ’s arrest to his death and burial. Bach’s music captures both the drama and poignancy of the story, with scheming priests, the screaming mob, and the great anguish of Christ’s friends.
For this performance, The Dunelm Consort & Players, directed by Jonathan Allsopp, are joined by some of their current regular soloists as well as welcoming a former member back from studies in Germany and two up-and-coming young soloists from London.
Ruairi Bowen – Evangelist
Gareth Thomas – Christus
Hannah Cox – soprano
Lewis Cullen – countertenor
David Booer – tenor
Florian Störtz – bass/Pilate
