In DUPO’s 15th year celebrations, the Chamber Orchestra mix orchestral favourites with a rarely performed gem from the turn of the twentieth century. Steeped in Romanticism, Ethel Smyth’s Serenade in D was her first orchestral work. It is preceded by de Falla’s dramatic and exciting Ritual Fire Dance and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with soloist Ursula Misra.
