Music in Durham

The Sixteen Choral Pilgrimage dates announced

Diaries out – The Sixteen have announced dates for their 2014 Choral Pilgrimage concerts. They’re back to their regular October slot in Durham Cathedral – they’ll be here on Friday 24 October. Booking opens in January and I’ll update my event listing as soon as I have the information.

It’s another great programme with music by Tudor composers John Sheppard, Richard Davy and William Mundy: the Sixteen have clearly decided to get in ahead of what is assumed to be the 500th anniversary of Sheppard’s birth in 1515.

If you fancy having a go at singing some of the music on the programme yourself, book a place on their choral workshop the following day in Edinburgh. I’ll be singing Sheppard in 2015 with Durham Singers (VERY excited about this), so I’ll definitely be going.

Full tour details are here on The Sixteen’s website
