Marking the centenary of Gabriel Fauré’s death, Durham Singers, directed by Tom Edney, celebrate his career as a composer, organist and teacher who was, in his time, considered radical and modernist and whose unique voice in French composition influenced not just his pupils, but left a lasting effect throughout the twentieth and into the twenty-first century.
