Durham University Chamber Choir are joined by alumni in their 55th anniversary year in a profound journey from prayer to deliverance, conducted by Cameron Davies.

Paweł Łukaszewski’s 3-part Lamentations set texts from the Old Testament mourning the destruction of Jerusalem and contrasts moments of quiet with sharp, striking harmonies. Joel Thompson’s ‘A Prayer for Deliverance’ refocuses the experience of grief towards hope and salvation. Herbert Howell’s intensely personal and poignant Requiem mixes sections of the Latin Requiem mass with texts from the Psalms, ending with the ethereal beauty of ‘I heard a voice from heaven’.
