Conducted by Associate Conductor Louis Allen, Durham University Choral Society’s Lent term concert “Nachtwache” (night watch) is inspired by the symbol of a guard nurse at a hospital, and explores themes of nightfall, darkness and sleep in an eclectic programme including Gustav Holst’s ‘Evening Watch’ and the mystical and decorative ‘Seek Him that Maketh the Seven Stars’ by Jonathan Dove.

This concert is a preview of the choral society’s upcoming tour to Germany.
