As part of Durham Vocal Festival, the Gabrieli ROAR project brings a massed choir of teenage singers from across the region join the singers and orchestra of the Gabrieli Consort and professional soloists, including soprano Jessica Cale for a programme of baroque classics. The programme includes Antonio Vivaldi’s effervescent Gloria, and two gems by Henry Purcell Rejoice in the Lord Alway (‘The Bell Anthem’) and Come Ye Sons of Art – music written nearly 350 years ago but still inspiring and enthusing young singers today.
