Elisa Rodrigues – Chega de Saudade

Music for listening to on a Saturday night whilst drinking capirinhas and cooking Brazilian food.

One of our family’s favourite Saturday dinners is a sort of Brazilian/Caribbean mixture of a fish and seafood cooked in coconut milk and served with a spicy rice with okra and peppers in it. And while it’s cooking, we have capirihnas (with a non-alcoholic version for the boy) and Elisa Rodrigues singing the bossa nova classic Chega de Saudade. We’re having it for tea tonight, even though we couldn’t get okra and we’re not sure if there’s enough cachaça left for the cocktails. But we’ve still got the music.
