Two evocative works from England and Italy form the first half of DUOS Symphony Orchestra’s concert. The haunting beauty of Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves is followed by Respighi’s Pines of Rome, transporting the listener through shimmering landscapes to its electrifying, triumphant climax. Saint-Saëns’ monumental ‘Organ Symphony’, where the full force of orchestra and cathedral organ combine in a spine-tingling explosion of sound concludes the concert.
