Francesca Massey, the wonderfully talented sub-organist of Durham Cathedral, has just released her first CD, a programme of 20th century music, centre around Oskar Lindberg’s organ sonata, with works by Messiaen, Dupre, Alain, Pott, Bowen and Hovland. Anyone who’s heard Francesca playing Durham cathedral’s organ, either for services or at one of her recitals, will know that she clearly enjoys this repertoire – I’m entirely convinced by the the record label blurb that says “Massey’s playing is accomplished, exciting and the recital is a tour de force on one of Britain’s most versatile instruments”. 

I’ll try post a review at some point, but if anyone more knowledgeable than me about organ music would like to contribute one, they’d be very welcome!
